Here is a picture i found of 3 Musicians (accordion Players), off a video related to Liverpool Italians. Connected to Volante maybe?
I am interested to know who they are, especially the lady in the middle?

They are in Terry Cooke's book 'Little Italy'. Debz D'annunzio has done a follow up called Italian Families. I take it you have these. My friend Paul Sudbury put together that youtube clip as it formed part of his film Garden of stones for Italian consulate Nunzia Bertali during our event at the Ristorante in town and also the Liverpolitalia event at the Silvestrian. I will check to see if they are named when I get home.
Sorry, the pic is off the Scottie Press not the book.
See.: http://www.scottiepress.org/projects/litaly.htm
However an Amando Capaldi does give an interview in the book, along with quite a few other Italians.

What an excellent write up! Best i've seen posted on Capaldi's!
I have'nt got the book 'Liverpools Italian Families'. I have tried to purchase Debra D'annunzio's but it wasn't available.
I dont suppose the book shows any other Capaldi's?
Capo, by the way, that Park Road Capaldi's I told you about...for what it's worth in 1938 the same shop was owned by another Italian it seems - fella by the name of Antonio Riccio (an ice cream maker)
Great, Thanks dave. There were so many Italians in the Cafe, Ice Cream, Milk Shop business its hard to keep on top of it all!
My Family were also from just outside naples running a farm. May be connected to Armando on a far!
Ged, can you please tell me if you know of any other Capaldi mentioned in the book?
...Italian consulate Nunzia Bertali ...
What years was he consul?
Anybody know of any Capaldi's mentioned in 'Liverpool's Italian Family' books?
She is the Italian consul to Merseyside. She has appeared as our guest at various events as well as interviewed in my friends film 'Gardens of Stone' which features Gerard Gardens, built on the part of Liverpool 3 known as Little Italy. Have you also contacted Liverpolitalia - I expect you have googled or looked into these things in your quest for Capaldi information???
Thanks, but unfortunately np luck from Nunzia Bertali. I sent an email to Liverpoolitalia twice, about 2-3 months ago, but got no reply?
I have now ordered the death cert. for Alex Capaldi. I hope it has a relitives name on for me to go by?

I was just a few decades off...
Just asked my mother, and the consul's name was Staniscia who used to visit us. My mum says that my sister and I used to enjoy his visits since he always came with a large bottle of wine - insisted that the "bambinos" drink - and stayed until the bottle was gone.
My sister and I apparently had many great discussions with him - and then he drove off in his big car (an American Motors Ambassador, IIRC) with diplomatic plates...
This would have been in the early 60's - mum said the Liverpool office was closed and moved to Manchester, has it re-opened in Liverpool for Nunzia Bertali, or is she actually based in Manchester?
